Typography refers to the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and visually appealing.

It includes the selection of typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line spacing, and letter spacing, among other design elements.

Imagine you’re making a poster for a event. You’d pick different fonts, sizes, and colors for the words to make it attractive and easy to understand, right? Well, we web designers do the same thing for websites. We choose fonts that match the website’s theme and make sure the text is the right size and spaced nicely.

When you visit a website, you want to be able to read the words easily. If the text is too small, too big, or hard to read, it can be frustrating. Good typography makes sure the text is just right so you can enjoy the website and find the information you need.

The ideal font size used for body text by all great designers is between 16-18 pixels. This is not too small not too big, it is the best font size for all devices

In this website we use 18px and ensured that the font size is consistent across different devices.

Line length and spacing refer to the length of the lines and the space between them.

A good practice is to ensure that the line length is not too long or too short, as it can affect the readability of the text.

The ideal line length is between 50-75 characters. Adequate spacing between lines, paragraphs, and letters is also crucial for readability. Designers can use line-height and letter-spacing to adjust the spacing.

4. Color and Contrast

Color and contrast refer to the use of color to enhance the typography’s visual appeal and legibility.

Make sure that there is sufficient contrast between the text and the background. The ideal contrast ratio is 4.5:1 for body text and 7:1 for headings.
